Hi all - does anyone have experience with changing their Visa type from a Tourist Visa to a Special Tourist Visa? Appreciate any advice - thanks!

Ah... that's a shame. I thought so too - but saw this option on the Immigration Appointment Reservation site - and had a bit of hope. Appreciate the responses guys!

you can change visas but not to STV. Things like education, retirement, employment are all common.

A special tourist visa can only be acquired OUTSIDE of Thailand. Most Thai consulates have a notice saying they will stop selling the Special Tourist Visa after July 3rd.

You needed to BUY a Special Tourist Visa from the thai consulate in your country before you came here.
