If you have a work permit as a teacher for 1year and transfer to another school...can that permit just transfer or do you have to go out of the country again and start over?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Transferring a work permit as a teacher in Thailand from one school to another can be complex. While theoretically possible with cooperation from all parties involved, in practice, it often requires the cancellation of the current work permit and visa extension, forcing individuals to start over and potentially leave the country. The work permit is issued by the Ministry of Labour and is distinct from the visa, which allows for an extension of stay.

In the Visa B is the employer named ?

Good to see.....never saw it like this .....

Here are "company specific" Non-B visas from inside and outside the country

Vientiane puts a sticker most places just write the company name in thai on the visa itself

and in-country Non-B visas ALWAYS have the company name written on them SO if you're going to switch companies before you get your first extension you can't :O You need to go get a new Non-B

You apply for a Visa at a Thai Consulate with documentation from your employer. Some Consulates just write the name, they read from the documentation on the visa. In that case, you need always a new visa.

I think As he get bis Visa outside, Nobody can controls where he is/ was employed ...this Couleur only the Labor Office , but...they Not have Access to the Imigration ....

good point (y) IF they are on a VISA entry which is specific to an employer they cannot do anything but leave the country and get a new Non-B.

In theory yes, if all participants, Immigration Office, Ministry of Labor, old and new employer work closely together. In real life this does not happen, cancel WP and Extension of Stay and start from scratch is what almost every body does.

what lets you STAY IN the country is your visa and/or your extension of stay (which you get from a thai consulate and from the immigration office).

what lets you work WORK IN is the work permit (which you get from the Ministry of Labour).
