This is a "proof of funds" questions as it relates to border entries . I now have a Thai bank account , with a passbook showing the amount in my account . If I were to be asked for 'proof of funds ' at a border entry , is that passbook , with sufficient funds showing , all the evidence required ? Rather than flashing cash .

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Thai bank passbook showing sufficient funds may not be accepted as proof of funds when entering Thailand. At border crossings, travelers are typically required to show cash (either Thai or foreign currency) rather than bank statements or passbooks. For visa applications, however, proof of funds can be shown via bank accounts.
One thing to keep in mind is of the thousands of people who enter the country every week only a handful (and a small handful at that) are asked to show proof of funds. Most of those are people who have extensive histories of living in thailand on back-2-back visa exempt entries or tourist visas.
There are two distinctly different times when people can be asked for proof of funds.
You can be asked for proof of funds at the thai consulate when you apply for a visa. At that time you show a bank account (thai or foreign) for the required amount. You CANNOT show cash.
You can be asked for proof of funds at an entry point into thailand when you're stamping in. At that time you show cash (thai or foreign) for the required amount. You CANNOT show banked money.
