Good morning. I understand that 25 July is the last date to apply for the final covid extension. Can anyone tell me if the immigration office at the airport in Chiang Mai is asking for a letter from your embassy if you are from Australia as a requirement for consideration for granting the covid visa. Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post inquires about the requirement for a letter from the Australian embassy when applying for the COVID extension visa at the immigration office in Chiang Mai, with a deadline for applications set on July 25. Responses indicate that application decisions are made by immigration officers and that referencing other countries' experiences won't influence the application outcome.
Everybody can apply and the decision is made by the Immigration Officer.
Telling the Immigration Officer that you read on Facebook that other people from other countries with another history of stay inside Thailand got an extension does not give you any special privileges.
I close this down to avoid more stories about other nationalities using other Immigration Offices which has no added value to this question.
Thanks James I did see that somewhere but Chinese person who applied for a covid extension at CM was told to get a letter from her embassy so that is why I thought I would check to see if anyone else has been asked for that.
