When apply and enroll to a Thai language school for Ed visa there’s a box to cross for if you have a criminal record. Is that really a requirement? And do they check that with your home country?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a Thai Education Visa through a language school, there is an optional section regarding a criminal record. Experiences vary; some users report that schools do not enforce this requirement, while others mention that it could be requested for certain visas by the embassy as part of a security initiative. It is advisable to be honest when completing the application, and in some cases, a criminal record check may be required to apply for the visa.

It's an optional thing they can ask for, but I've never heard of them asking anyone for it.

it’s was just one of the boxes to tick in their application form, they didn’t mention it specifically. And I never heard before that it’s a requirement for Ed visa. Just thought it was strange and wanted som clarification, thanks 🙏
