When applying for the DTV visa in Hanoi:

1. Do I need to show proof of an onward flight to Thailand?

2. Do I also need to provide proof of hotel booking or accommodation in Thailand?

I’m prepared to provide both if necessary — just want to confirm what’s required.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for the Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Hanoi, while the application initially does not require proof of onward flight or accommodation, it is advisable to be prepared to provide these documents if requested by the embassy. Applicants can enter their intended flight details and accommodation information, but some may later be asked to provide proof of booking.

When you apply it will ask you for details of where you are staying and the flight details. It doesnt initially ask for proof of either so inputting where you intend on staying and your intended flight should be enough, however some people are then later asked to provide the proof of booking both or either. So be prepared to provide if asked for. It will depend on the type of dtv and embassy you apply for.

That’s a good question. I have a one way ticket to Bangkok and will work out where and when I travel to the next place. With a DTV visa I would have thought this would have been an acceptable plan given we have the freedom and time to decide. I have read others just booking a cheap outbound to cover themselves.
