Has anyone tried applying for a 30-day extension for a tourist visa at the Koh Phangan immigration office since the laws have changed? My last entry into Thailand was via a border run in November… I’m wondering what the chances are that I’ll get denied an extension… 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the likelihood of obtaining a 30-day extension for a tourist visa at the Koh Phangan immigration office following their re-entry to Thailand via a border run. Responses indicate that the approval chances may vary based on individual circumstances, history of visa use, and the immigration officer’s discretion. There's a consensus that a record of recent border runs and the intent of staying longer than allowed could negatively impact the extension request.
Take your the worst that can happen is they will deny you and you will have to leave say within 7 days or if you are arriving in Thailand again, you could be denied entry 🤹🏿♂️ 🎲
So what reason have you did a border run in November, come back in and want to extend again? Your entry/extension history is what they'll look at to determine if you're living in Thailand and not a tourist.
