When you get your 60 day covid stamp do they count the 60 days from the last date on your last stamp or from the day you walk in?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The 60-day Covid extension in Thailand is generally calculated from the date the stamp is issued, especially if it's your first COVID-60 extension. Subsequent extensions are added to the end date of your current visa if you are already on a COVID-60 extension, preventing any loss of days. However, different immigration offices may apply these rules inconsistently, leading to variations in experiences. It's advisable to apply in a timely manner before your current stamp expires.

I have already done 2 60 days covid extensions, walk in 1 week before, and start every time from last stamp, never lost 1 day, in jomtien immigration, the first covid extension done after a medical visa
strange that you didn't lose the days you had on the medical extension when you switched reasons to a covid extension (as a rule they start the covid stamp the day you apply when you change the reason)

I entered on a non o.
Then they gave me a “family visa” for 60 days valid till 12 April.
So i guess my best bet is going 29 March and hope they add those 13 days...
, you will most likely lose those extra days because you got a 60 day visit thai family extension and if you apply for a covid extension it's for a different reason :(
Sure you got the 60 day visit family extension and not a covid one? Is there a #5 or a ข้อ5 written on the current extension stamp (that means a covid extension)

I’ve heard for the first one it starts the day you apply but I’ve just got mine and it added 60 days on form my last stamp, I applied 5 days before my last stamp expired
Now unless I’ve got my numbers wrong here’s how it went
***
/21- last day of my 30 day extension stamp
***
/21 I walked into jontiem and applied for the covid extension
****
/21-go back after the under consideration stamp, make a copy of bio page and current stamp, leave passport at the front desk over night, collect in the morning
***
/21- new extension of stay date stamped in

Depends. When you are coming directly from your original visa / entry stamp (i.e. if it is your first COVID-60 extension), they are counting from the day of application (so you may loose days if you go there early). If already on a COVID-60 day extension, the next extension will be added to the end date of the current one (so you will not loose days, if you go early). This is the general rule. Then again, TIT, nothing is applied coherently among different offices of the same organization, unfortunately.

60 days from the date the stamp is issued. The covid unable to travel extensions are different than normal extensions that are issued effective when your current entry stamp expires.
Only the first one. Subsequent COVID-60 extensions tend to be counted from the end date of the current COVID-60. Doesn't make much sense - but what does.
