How strict is the 3-month bank statements requirement for the DTV visa application?

Hello everyone! I’ll be applying for the DTV visa soon from America/ Washington DC embassy. I only have 1 month (2 months tops from the date of my flight) proof of bank statements with 500,000 TBH.

I’m commission based and can’t show steady monthly income but I have a big chunks of change come in sporadically.

Wondering:

How strict is the 3 month bank statements requirement?

Will I automatically get denied if I only send in 1 month?

If so, what visa should I apply for instead for a long term stay for someone under 50?

Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster is applying for a DTV visa from the US but only has one month of bank statements showing 500,000 THB. They are questioning the strictness of the three-month bank statements requirement for this visa. Comments indicate that under 50, the poster can consider a tourist visa and language school for a long-term stay and warn that the DTV visa may require a higher balance of about $16,000 in their account.

What State in the USA do you live in ?

Note that the requirements for the DTV visa and making application with a Thai Consulate or Thai Embassy in the USA requires MORE THAN 500,000 THAI BAHT.

Currently they are requiring a bank account balance of US $16,000 or more in a bank account in your name only.

Proof of Financial Capability: A bank statement showing a minimum balance of 500,000 THB (approximately $16,000 USD) or equivalent. If using a family bank statement, you must provide proof of relationship.

Note they want to see three MONTHS of bank account statements... with the ending balance of the 3rd statement to be at least US 16,000.

thank you so much for looking into all that. I saw the requirements. When it says it needs 3 months statements with an ending balance of $16k. Does that mean I need at least $16k ALL 3 months or at least $16k by the time of the last (3rd) statement?

Like I said I have more than $16k but prior to Sept I didn’t. I’m worried I will get denied…

Under 50, you can come with tourist visa and go to language (etc) school to convert for 1year ED. What it comes to bank statements, search the group for the embassy you will be applying from
