Hi everyone 🙂

Am holding a Singapore passport and would like to ask if anyone knows how strict immigration is on visa exempts? I’ve stayed for almost 2 months in June to Aug, a week in March and 2 weeks in April and would like to head back to Bangkok at the end of the year (about 2 weeks, somewhere along Christmas and new years). I’m currently based in Singapore and won’t be doing any travelling to Thailand until then.

Are they most likely to stop me at immigration or should I get a SETV? Any advice would be helpful, this is my first time travelling a lot to Thailand 😅 haven’t done any border bounces at all and have been travelling by air to Suvarnabhumi airport only.

Thank you for all the help~

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Singapore passport holder inquired about the strictness of Thai immigration regarding visa-exempt stays, given their upcoming travels around Christmas after previous visits totaling almost two months. Community members advised on the importance of having proof of funds, onward travel, and lodging to ease the immigration process, while cautioning that enforcement can vary by immigration officer.

visa exempt yes but only for 90 days as per mentioned on the Consulate site, not sure how strict they’ll enforce the rule that’s all 🙂

would this apply to a visa exempt (fly in/out)? Based on what I understand it’s more applicable to one that is still currently in the country but I’m not too sure

IO can decided based on immigration laws, last time when u were 60 days over stay, it should have flagged when you exit, looks like IO over looked it, I assume you should be fine, just keep your fingers crossed, keep some fine money in case they closely look at, good luck

Nono I didn’t overstay. I used 30day exempt plus the 30 day extension that I went to Watthana and paid 1900thb for the extension. Did not overstay any of my stays, left within the timeframe given.

It's probably okay. Just make sure you have the 3 proofs.

1) proof of funds (20,000 baht or equivalent in another major currency in cash)

2) proof of onward travel (a ticket out of Thailand within 30 days)

3) proof of lodging (at least a week of hotel reservation)

Also make sure you use the correct acronym. A single entry tourist visa is SETV.

STV was "Special Tourist Visa" that ended last year.

hi Brandon , just a quick ask , when has a week of accommodation come about ? Cheers

it's just a general guideline. If they start asking you for things because they want to deny you entry, those are the 3 things they'll ask for and showing a week long hotel booking and saying you haven't booked your next hotel or whatever is usually enough to satisfy them.
