I have recently applied for a Non Immigrant O visa (volunteer) using the Thai Embassy in Singapore online system and have been asked to submit a supporting document of a bank statement (no specific amount requested)

How recent should a bank statement is?

I just recently transferred almost all of my money from my Malay bank account (just finished working in Malaysia) to my home country account (transfer still in process). I still have the equivalent of 20k baht in my Malay one but I’m wondering if I should use a recent statement with the 20k or use my previous bank statement of June 28th with 50k+ baht

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has applied for a Non Immigrant O visa (volunteer) and needs guidance on how recent a bank statement should be. The user's current statement shows a balance of 20k baht, while an older statement shows a balance of over 50k baht. Responses indicate that the most recent bank statement should be used, but one user mentions that the embassy requested official statements covering the last two months with specific closing balances. It appears the embassy is strict in their requirements.

Quick update for those interested. The embassy has requested the official bank statements for the last two months (June and May) with at least 2000 SGD as closing balance for each. This is based on the amount of days I’ll be in Thailand (90 days)

thanks for your feedback. It definitely sounds like they are not the friendliest consulate for volunteer non-O visas, good to know.

Brett Mcleod Tod Daniels It is not on the website which is why I have personally contacted the embassy where they stated they do issue them. You apply to them as Non O on the online system and it gives you all the options for Non O’s so you can choose and also the option of “other” and you just fill out a blank space with “volunteer”. I was given these instructions by the consular service from this Embassy on the phone. Just for reference if you guys were interested 😊

I don't even see a Non-O for the purpose of volunteering from the thai consulate in Singapore.

:/

I'd send in the current statement showing 20K baht as it'd be the most recent one and actually the accurate one too

you're asking a question you need to be asking THE consulate :O

I can't ever remember someone getting a Non-O based on volunteering from there at all :/

Thank you! Should it be alright even if it shows a load of money coming out of the account recently?
