Please we need some urgent advice. Due to a mistake at the bank we need to now reapply for a retirement visa for my 80 year old husband. Our cheapest option is Kuala Lumpur. Are we able to get a retirement visa from the Thai embassy there? Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Other comments discuss alternative visa options and the necessary documents required for the application.
90 DAY REPORTING RESOURCES / SERVICES
Use the trusted Thailand 90 Day Reporting Serviceto get your in-person report done and mailed to you for as low as 375 THB (even if the online system doesn't work for you).
For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
send the person to the border (in Chiang Mai you bounce at the Mae Sai - Tachiliek border with burma. That will get them a 30 day visa exempt entry stamp.
THEN go immediately to the Chiang Mai immigration office and get the hand out for the 90 day in country Non-O conversion process. <- the reason I said go immediately is that you need 21 days or more left on your current stamp to do it in Chiang Mai.
You don't need an in country agent to push paper for you and it can be done with just some planning and two visits to the immigration office (one to apply and another one to go back and get the 90 day Non-O stamped into your passport.
Then after that you could apply for a year extension..
you must search the internet there are people that do fast SA pcc. You go to the SA embassy in Bkk and get your finger prints done. Then DHL it to the people in SA that can help with fast SA pcc's. They then DHL it back to you. Even the fast service will take about 5 weeks plus.
What I don't understand is that the money has been in the account for a year but because it's not a fixed deposit account but a special interest free bond account they won't accept it.
S/A passport holders could get a 90 day single entry Non-O visa from the thai consulates in lao but you'll need a police back ground check and a medical certificate along with proof of funds.
Vientiane has online appointment booking (meaning they don't have walk up service) BUT Savannakhet is walk up without an appointment.
Keep in mind the holiday closures for Songkran BEFORE you go :)
Visit their website, check if the passport of your husband is listed as restricted country. Click on the correct link for the Visa requirements, print it out, fill it in and sign both the checklist and application form. Make an appointment to visit the Embassy to apply and an appointment to pick it up the next day.
