TLDR : Answer Summary
The legal maximum amount of Thai Baht you can leave Thailand with is 50,000 Baht. Exceeding this amount requires declaration. Various comments suggest that carrying a higher amount might not raise questions, but it's essential to check both Thai regulations and the laws of your destination country regarding cash limits.

Buy gold walk threw airport with it on your finger sell it in UK 😁👍
" just change "India" to "Thailand" and there you are! . . . . "Passengers may request the customs for issue of an export certificate at the time of their departure from India, in respect of jewellery carried by them to facilitate its re-import subsequently. If an individual does not intend to bring back the ornaments within three years, then an export certificate may not be required. Therefore, any amount of bonafide gold can be taken from India to UK as personal baggage.
However, as per UK laws, certain customs/import duties or taxes may be applicable on such goods. Passengers have to declare the jewellery they intend to bring in UK to the custom authorities.
Personal allowance rules apply to any goods you have bought overseas and are bringing into the UK. Goods (for your own use or to be given as gifts) commonly known as ‘personal allowances’, are not subject to taxes and duties. You can bring in such goods worth up to £390. Beyond this, you need to pay tax and duty on the total value of the goods and not just the value above the allowance. Therefore, it is advisable to declare the same on UK government websites ,which also assist in ascertaining the amount of tax to be paid (if any)."
If you intend to return to Thailand in 10 months imagine how much you would lose changing into you home currency and changing your home currency back into baht. Avoiding rates twice
My point was, why bother taking the baht out of Thailand ? If you leave it in a Thai bank and the pound drops to 40 you can still get a much better exchange rate to the pound in Thailand than you ever would in the UK ? The UK high street exchange rate for Thai baht is currently around 42 baht to the pound
Two issues: how much currency the Thai government permits you to take out and the secondary issue of how much your destination allows you to bring in. Both important to get right.
/- you have to declare same rule in and out. Not sure about upper limit

If you're going back to the UK with more than £10.000 or equivalent. You need to fill in a simple form on the gov.uk site otherwise they can seize it from you.
