The 20 000 baht cash requirement when entering Thailand on a tourist exemption. Does it have to be Thai baht or can it be your home countries currency equivalent? ( South African Rand) ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When entering Thailand under a tourist exemption, the cash requirement of 20,000 baht can be satisfied with the equivalent amount in any foreign currency, including South African Rand, as long as it is in cash.
