TLDR : Answer Summary
The 6-month Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV) can be used multiple times, theoretically without limit. However, experiences shared by community members suggest that overstaying or frequent re-entries may lead to scrutiny by immigration officials, as some individuals have been denied entry after using the METV multiple times. Those over 50 years old might consider applying for an O-A Multi-entry visa, which allows for a longer stay of up to two years.

Gary...if you are age 50+...do yourself a favor. Apply for the O-A Multi-entry visa from your home country Australia. Easy to obtain. Gives you up to two years hassle free stay in Thailand. NO money needs to be in a Thai bank.
Use search top of page
enter "O-A". Also read TOPICS ... O-A visa on top of forum.

In theory there is no limit and I KNEW of people who were on their 4th 6 month METV :O that they got from the same consulate (in the US) but the last time they tried to fly into thailand they were denied entry :/ They had to go to KL, then cross into thailand by land at the Malaysia border, which they got in without a problem.
So I'd say you're not gonna be able to live here long term on 6 month METV's but it's better than single entry tourist visas that's for sure ;)

Sorry, my mistake, the six month metv.

There is a single entry 60 day tourist visa and a SIX MONTH METV <- multi-entry tourist visa that you get from a thai consulate in your country BEFORE you wing your way here.
Now what are you talking about?

There is no 60 day METV :/
