TLDR : Answer Summary
You can get a 12-month extension of stay on a 90-day Non-O family visa, contingent on Immigration Office approval. Alternatively, if you are visiting Thai family on a 90-day Non-O Visa or a 60-day tourist visa and are married to a Thai citizen or have a Thai child, you may apply for a 60-day family extension for visiting Thai family. However, you cannot obtain more than one 60-day family visit extension per entry.

you can enter on a 90-days Non-Imm-O Family visa, get stamped a 90-days stay permit, and on Immigration can get a 60-days extension based on "family visit" for 1900 Baht. Nobody is forcing you to extend your 90-days stay permit into the 1-year Extension of Stay Permit. However before the 90 plus 60 days = 150 days stay permit expires, you need to exit Thailand. You can't get another 60-days "family visit" extension any more - the limit is ONE per entry
However you can only get the "60-days family visit" extension, if your marriage is acknowledged and registered in Thailand. Because Immigration will want to see a freshly on the Amphur printed "Kor Ror 22" marriage registry as proof of a still existing marriage. If you marriage is only registered abroad, you first need to get it acknowledged inside Thailand
yes, exactly. Many people do actually base their 5- or 4 months hibernation along with their Thai wives by these means

For the family VISA, which means a 90 days Non O based on marriage or having a Thai child, you may apply for the regular one year extension of stay OR a 60 days family EXTENSION visiting thai family.
If you’re on a 60 days tourist visa or 60 days visa exemption and also are married to a Thai or having a thai child, you can also apply for a 60 days family EXTENSION visiting Thai family.
ok if your on the 90-day Visa based on family you may be granted a 12-month extension of stay. Your extension of stay will start after your visa expires
thanks. The proof of financial stability have to be from Thai bank or can be statement from UK bank. I have join account on my Thai girlfriend name and do not know if they will accept it. Even i can send money from UK to my saving account as proof where the money come from
yeh but that's a problem as you I'm assuming don't have a Long Term Visa . But if you have the bank tru and see if they do. Insurance you will need so give that a try
yes I will have just the family visa from UK and do not know if you can open account on that. I have only saving account with SCB, but it is join with my Thai girlfriend. And I want extension only for 2 months
ok then enter VISA exempt for 60 days and forget the 90-day Non O based on family. If you change your mine enter with Non O based on Family and get 12 month Extension 12-months for ฿1900. Then you can have your bank account
