How can I get my visa stamp updated under the recent Amnesty extension in Thailand?

The immigration has announced (yesterday) that the continued Amnesty allows the people that extended before the 26th of September to stay until the end of November- but need to get an updated stamp. Does anyone know at which counter to get the stamp updated and how this works? Just go back to where you got the extension from?

Many thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The immigration has announced that individuals who had their visa extensions before September 26 can now stay until the end of November, but must get an updated stamp. It's advised to wait for official approval and for the immigration offices to be informed before going to update the stamp.

Okay people, step away from the keyboard, take a deep breath and WAIT for the official approval AND for immigration offices to know what they're supposed to be doing before you run back to them to get your stamp adjusted.

SIT TIGHT, wait it out..

The way it will work IS

IF you applied for a 30 day embassy request extension of stay BEFORE the 26th of Sept (which means you got an 'under consideration' stamp) when you go back to get it changed to an extension of stay stamp they should date it until Nov 30.

IF you already went back and got the under consideration stamp changed to an extension of stay stamp (closed the loop) you can go back to the immigration office and get that stamp updated to the 30th of Nov.

BUT

I'd sure wait a while before I ran over to the immigration office to make sure that this really does get approved AND more importantly that your immigration office knows how and what to do

At this time the amnesty has NOT been officially approved (we're still waiting on Prayuth to sign it and for it to be published in the Royal Gazette).

I know
@Ann***
there has been a lot of press about it, BUT one last time, it has not been signed off by Prayuth OR published in the Royal Gazette yet.

So sit tight, wait and see when they announce it is official. okay?
