How long will it take to process a Non B visa application at the Thai Embassy in Hanoi?

I have a British passport and nationality, currently on a tourist 45 day stamp. I want to apply for a Non B visa at the Hanoi Thai Embassy.

Their website says it takes 3 working days to process a visa application. Does that include the day you submit the application? For example, if I submit an application on Monday, would I go back to collect my documents on Wednesday or Thursday?

I'm trying to make sure I book flights on the correct days.

Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The processing time for a Non B visa application at the Thai Embassy in Hanoi is typically three working days, which usually means if you submit your application on Monday, you can expect to collect your documents on Thursday. It's advised to account for possible delays and to book a later flight accordingly. Additionally, ensure you have all necessary employer documents ready to support your visa application.

Do you already have a employer documents addressed to the Thai Embassy in Hanoi in support of your application for the Non B visa as a teacher?

My school are currently confirming with the embassy some details regarding documents but they will provide me with a letter to the relevant embassy, whichever one they and I decide on.

For the satisfaction of those who recall my previous post: I had an unusual situation whereby my first non B visa was granted while I was on my flight to Thailand from the UK. I didn't know it was granted as I had no Internet access so entered on what I thought was a tourist visa exemption which was stamped into my passport as such (45 days) but the computer system was updated to use my Non B visa unbeknownst to me. Hence the new non B visa application.

we wish you success... VIENTIANE is walkup.

Marie Therese do you have an email from your Thai Embassy in the UK stating that your Non B visa was approved?

I do yes - I printed it and tried to use it on my return from a short visit to Cambodia only to discover that according to the computer system it was already used. I showed my passport stamp and the officer explained what had happened but that they could not change the computer system. They added a second 45 day tourist stamp and advised me to contact my school to sort the situation out. Their solution was a new non b visa application and we're currently working out which embassy is best for me with the document requirements, either Sevkannahkhet or Hanoi looking likeliest as Vientiane has no appointments available for quite a while.

Don’t cut it too fine regardless of what they say on the website. Always book an extra day and book a late flight on that day ideally one you can change or doesn’t cost much to lose.

Thank you, I plan to allow as much wiggle room as possible, just double checking if a Friday flight is better than Thursday which seems to be the case. ☺

I know you said you're applying in Hanoi BUT in Vientiane three working days means turn in your application on Monday morning, pick your passport up Wednesday afternoon. Turn it in Thursday morning, get it back Monday afternoon, Friday morning, Tuesday afternoon 😮 You get the idea

I'd email OR call them, they speak english fine there

thanks, I have looked into Vientiane but they have no appointments available for the week I am intending to apply. I might do Sevkannahkhet tho - my school are looking into the requirements for there vs. Hanoi for me.

the good news is savannakhet doesn't need an appointment (unlike Hanoi, HCMC and Vientiane) 😮 It's walk up service,

and

the processing is TWO working days (apply Monday morning, get it back Tuesday afternoon)

I believe Hanoi is a walk up too - though longer processing time as you said. I think ultimately it comes down the documents needed as we're tight on time to get my Thai police check back but apparently Hanoi might accept my UK police check.
