My US passport is nearly full, time to get a new one.  Following all online instructions down to the part where I purchase a courier pass back envelope through the Thailand Post website...but to pay for the items in my cart, I must first set up an account (subscribe).  It asks for a 13 digit ID number and tax ID number...our US passports are only 9 digits....Im very confused as to how to set up an account to get this envelope required.  Anyone else successfully navigated this part of the process?

Went to the small town post office where I live. Advised I cannot purchase knline without a Thai ID, they have never heard of the envelope requested. Called the supervisor, consulted the website and still couldn't help me....I will attempt a larger town post office, or perhaps a bank draft? Governmental efficiency is exhausting.

Buy an envelope in person at the post office. You can't send packages via your computer these have to be mailed physically. Forget the website. You'll spend more getting the envelope delivered than going to your local post office to purchase one.

We just renewed my husband's passport in June. The Bangkok embassy wanted a Thai bank draft for 100 baht included for the return envelope...not sure if there is another way.

no, they only accept appointments for imminent emergencies. Running low on pages is not an emergency.

If by some chance you got any of the covid vaccines in Thailand you were given an ID number. This is a 13 digit number and you can use it. This is only if you received any covid vaccines in Thailand. The number, if you have it, starts with 600.

You can also go to Cambodia. They give you temporary which is good for a year while they work on making your new one. Maybe you could line it up for two Visa runs.

Just go to the post office. It's asking you for a Thai ID number. You don't have a Thai ID number.
