How is the TDAC related to TM30, TM47, and visa extensions in Thailand?

Is the TDAC connected in any way to the TM30 or TM47 or visa extensions?

Coming back from Japan tomorrow (2/25), the online TDAC form wouldn't let me to specify Thailand as my country of residence, unlike previous times. I had to specify that the US was my country of residency this time to submit and get QR code.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The TDAC (Thai Digital Arrival Card) is not directly connected to the TM30 (notification of foreigner's residence) or TM47 (90-day reporting). Users reported difficulties selecting Thailand as their country of residence while submitting the TDAC form online, with some needing to select the US instead. It's recommended to verify TM30 filings and ensure 90-day reporting is accurate after re-entering Thailand.

  • Use the trusted Thailand 90 Day Reporting Serviceto get your in-person report done and mailed to you for as low as 375 THB (even if the online system doesn't work for you).

yup, did that and selected Kingdom of Thailand. Selected the right province. When I clicked Review, the website told me that my Country of Residence was incorrect. I tried several times, same results. The only thing that worked was selecting USA.

The TDAC is a passive data entry program only. It's not tied in to TM30 (notification of foreigner in residence) or TM47 (90 day reporting)

Make sure you check with your immigration office after you're back to see if you need to refile/update your TM30 and as you know your next 90 day report is due 89 days after you stamp in ..

Safe travels

The TM47 paper form still requires the TDAC number (even though they can see it on their screen). I didn't have it and I was scolded the last time I had to go in person to CW as the officer reluctantly wrote it on the form for me 🤣

I asked him if I could take a photo of the form after he wrote it down so I could have it for next time, and he said no 🤷

that is a crazy story and I'd just tell them I don't have it,

they can see it and access it on their side and there's NO requirement at all to provide it.

I know... I think it's just something that they keep in their back pocket to toss our salad with. He kept telling me to check my email, as if I didn't do that already 🤷

I bounced yesterday and was able to select Thailand, but it wouldn't keep the choice when saving the page. Eventually I used my nationality.

that's what's happening to me. I'll try to update the TDAC again once I land in Bangkok.

no need to update it at all, that data doesn't affect anything you'd do in country once you stamp in
