Hi, i am a newbie to the group and also it is my first time on a non-immigrant O-A, which i got from Canada- few questions- i arrived here Sept 17 and at the airport they stamped me until May 1 2022, my visa says valid from July 29, 2021 until July 28 2022, so do i get 1 yr from July 29, 2021 or 1 yr from when i arrive here, and why did they stamp good until May 1 2022, i think they made a mistake, can i do 90 online reporting i have read it works for some but not others, i live very close to Korat Immigration, and finally can i change my visa to another one so i can teach online to Chinese students from our home. Sorry so many questions, thanks so much in advance, appreciate it very much.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks clarification on the validity period of their Non-Immigrant O-A visa, explaining they were stamped until May 1, 2022, despite having a visa valid until July 28, 2022. They are uncertain when the one-year duration officially starts: from their arrival or the visa issue date. They also question the possibility of doing the 90-day online reporting and seek advice on changing to a different visa to teach online to Chinese students.

You have to leave/re-enter OR extend before May 1st 2022. You should have been stamped in for 12 months when you arrived. I can only assume your insurance expires on May 1st?

You can possibly change visa in country, but it depends on the relationship your employer has with their immigration office. As your visa is still valid, this would have to be cancelled before any other visa can be issued. Talk with your employer

thanks for the quick reply, you know i wondered about that- i paid for 9 months of covid insurance as lady at Thai Consulate told me i can just pay for 6 months or more of insurance, so i did 9, so yes if you go from the day i got my visa July 29 that makes sense, as it is stamped right on my visa page what day my insurance runs out, but don't i have to do 90 day reporting or not or am i good until May 1, sorry i didn't explain further, i have no job, no employer , was just asking if i could change to another type of visa to allow me to teach students online that are from China, thanks again

you must do 90 day reports, count 89 days from when you entered Thailand. No need to change visa to teach Chinese students online unless the company is a Thai company. I wouldn't be broadcasting about your work.
