3 questions….

1️⃣ is visa extension issued from date applied or added on after original stamp? (landed 30 day exempt want 60 total)

2️⃣ how to obtain “residence certificate” in chiang mai? (Previously there was an expedited service)

3️⃣ is Chiang Mai immigration off open tomorrow 30th Dec? (Landlord said maybe closed?)

Thanks 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The visa extension is added to the date your current stamp expires, providing a total of 60 days if extending from a 30-day exemption. To obtain a residence certificate in Chiang Mai, it's recommended to visit the immigration office directly or inquire on local Facebook groups, as there may be a quick service available. As for the office hours, it is confirmed that the Chiang Mai immigration office is open on December 30th, despite potential holiday closures starting from the 31st.

As of last month, certificate of residence is 7 days by mail. List of requirements shown plus 40 baht for envelope and postage.

1. Added on for 60 total. 2. Fairly quick at immigration. 3. Closed for long holiday weekend but not sure if it starts the 30th or 31st.

When did you get your certificate of residence in Chiangmai? I got one last month. It was 7 days by mail. No expedited service.

2020, and again in 2021 in Chonburi

The 'regular' 30 day extension is added to the date your current stamp expires so no need to wait until this one is running out to go apply for one.

As far as how to get a certificate of residence at the Chiang Mai immigration office. Post on a Chiang Mai related f/b group or slog on over to the main immigration office by the airport up there and ask them.

The only holiday this year is Friday the 31st, so they're open today Thursday the 30th
