Hello,

Does anyone have any experience of a name change part way through a non B Visa? Getting a new British passport in my married name should be no problem but how will Thai immigration handle this?

Many thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
When changing your name while on a Non-B visa, Thai immigration typically does not transfer the visa to your new passport. You'll be required to use both your old and new passports. However, if you are on an Extension of Stay, it may be possible to transfer your visa to your new passport. It's recommended to obtain a letter from your Embassy to confirm your name change due to marriage, which may assist with remarks or updates needed by Thai immigration.

Immigration would not transfer a Visa (sticker in passport), than you have to use both passports. If you're on Extension of Stay it could be transferred to new passport. Ask your Embassy for the letter that confirms your new passport and let them make remark on it for the name change due to marriage.
