Hi I just got my new passport and want to transfert my visa .

1 of requirements is to have a letter from the ambassie

Unfortunately, my ambassie just told me that from the 1 of January ,they do not deliver this letter anymore .(French ambassie)

Anyone did it without the letter ?

Could it be a problem ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking advice on transferring their visa to a new passport after their embassy stopped issuing a required letter. They are currently on a non-immigrant visa based on marriage, due for renewal. Several comments suggest that the letter might not be necessary for the transfer, as some users have successfully done it without one. It is also mentioned that different embassies have different policies, and it’s advisable to visit the immigration office to clarify the requirements regarding visa and extension transfers.

Hi I will have a new passport (UK) soon. I have a visa exempt stamp and will have an extension. Can I just leave TH with both passports or do I need to contact immigration to transfer the extension stamp to the new passport? Thanks

you SHOULD go to the immigration office where you got the extension and get the stamps transferred (as long as you didn't do the eExtension online process)

that's how the rules are written, if you have an extension of stay that is stamped in you move the extension to the new passport at the office that issued the extension before leaving.

You probably COULD show both and get stamped out without too much issue, (they won't deny you exiting the country)

You don’t need the letter. I did the transfer without any letter, just tell them the truth.

Spanish embassy stop the letter one or two years ago, now they put a stamp in the first page (reserved page, not for visas) stating the new passport comes from old one, with the old one's number.

I transferred my extension from old to new with that stamp without any issues ( at Chiang Mai Immigration)

then take BOTH passports and go to your immigration office and get the extension stamps moved (y) I mean if you don't have the embassy letter you don't have it (not much you can do about that really)
