TLDR : Answer Summary
The requirements for proving financial stability for a retirement visa in Thailand have changed since the U.S. consulate stopped providing the affidavit of income letter on December 31, 2018. To extend your retirement visa, you must either transfer a minimum of 65,000 baht into a Thai bank account each month for the last 12 months, or deposit 800,000 baht into a Thai bank account in your name for at least 2 months before applying for your extension. It's advisable to consult with the Thai immigration office for specific guidance.

Unless you use banked money (800K baht in a bank account in your name only for 2 months before you apply) you are unlikely to secure another yearly extension.

Even if you started transferring in 65K baht a month from overseas into your thai bank account they would deny you for not having 12 months worth of transfers when you apply.

It was ALL over the inter-web last year when the US consulate stopped issuing the affidavit of income notary letters.

The thai immigration office said, IF you still wanted to use monthly income as the method to meet the proof of funds, you needed to transfer at least 65K baht IN to the country every month for the previous 12 months.

You need to either have been transferring money in every month if you're going to use the monthly income method OR you need to bank 800K baht in a thai bank account for 2 months before you apply for your extension.

There is no affidavit of income letter from the US consulate any more. It stopped on Dec 31st, 2018.

IF you are going to use monthly income as the method to meet the proof of financial requirements you would need to transfer IN to a thai bank account in your name only from overseas a minimum of 65K baht per month each month every month for the previous 12 months before you apply for your new extension.
