Can I transfer my O-Visa from my old passport to my new UK passport?

I am married to a Thai national and have an O-visa (marriage).

I also have a, much newer, UK passport. Iis it possible to transfer my visa to the other passport.

I asked CM immigration (sub-office in Central Festival mall) if this was possible. I will be going to the UK and Germany this week and the immigration people suggested just using my UK passport when I return and getting a tourist visit and then applying for a new O-visa.

Does anyone have any better ideas, comments?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster, married to a Thai national and holding an O-visa based on marriage, inquires if it's possible to transfer this visa to a new UK passport. Immigration staff advised using the UK passport upon re-entry and applying for a tourist visa before seeking a new O-visa. Comments clarify that visas cannot be transferred between passports, suggesting the recommended approach is to exit on the current passport and re-enter on the UK passport to then apply for the new visa.

They can't transfer ANY visa (a sticker or stamp) to a new passport and if you have a year extension of stay that you got from the immigration office based on marriage they won't move it to a passport of a different nationality <- it seems like you're saying you hold passports from TWO countries

I'd say their advice is good, stamp OUT on the current passport you're here on, then come in on the UK passport with a 45 day visa exempt entry and apply for the new Non-O 90 day visa and after that the year extension based on marriage

Are both passports from the UK?

Or one from NZ and other from UK?
