Data point. Just leaving MTT. Got another 60 days covid extension. No questions asked. Very busy today. While I waited an hour for them to return my passport EVERYONE waiting got their extensions and didn't seem like anyone was asked for anything like return flights etc. When I left they were up to intake number 70. Extension valid into April (60 days from previous expiry in feb). Another data point. MTT doesn't shake down people. No tea money (2000 baht) or seafood buffet money (3000 baht) overcharges lol

TLDR : Answer Summary
A recent experience shared by a community member indicates that obtaining a 60-day COVID extension at an immigration office in Thailand was straightforward, with no additional documentation required and no bribes involved. Many others waiting for extensions received approvals without issues. However, queries about the future of the COVID extension process arose, with concerns that it may end soon, as no announcements have been made regarding renewals beyond a specific date. Insights into the overall extension process and requirements for different visa types were also discussed.

There has been no announcement of the 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19 being renewed past the 25th so far.

1. A tourist visa is good for 90 days, but on entry you are stamped in for 59 days. Confirm that you're not currently on overstay 😮

2. FOR MOST IMMIGRATION OFFICES, you have to apply for a 30 day extension of stay based on tourism before they allow you to apply for a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19.

3. FOR MOST IMMIGRATION OFFICES, the 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19 begins on the day you receive it.

No one knows yet. By end of week we will all know... I went today on the (in my opinion small) chance it isn't extended since my expiry was a week later anyway.

the issue of Jan 25th is the processing date. Extensions before then will be valid for 60 days from previous expiry. My expiry was Jan 31st. I went today and new stamp is April 1

I applied for a 60 day covid extension in Chaingmai as came here on a Non-O family and I was told I got 15 days consideration and to come back Jan 25 and they would give me the other 46 days. Now my original visa was good until Jan 28 so don't know if I will get the extra 45 days as I was hoping to stay here until early March. Does any one have any ideas why I got only 15 days confederation as my flight is book for the 29 of Jan and I need to change that also. And help out there

Place is surprisingly a madhouse these days! I was able to get my regular 30-day extension in just two hours; not without the usual rudeness and abrasiveness of your blue vested glasses guy at the first desk. Goodluck everyone!
