The Covid extension program is currently set to expire 27-Sept unless the govt extends the program. I went today, as I didn't want to potentially wait in long queues towards end of the month. Arrived 10:30AM...out by 11:00AM(Only TWO people ahead of me!) π...Pleasantly surprised that there would be no 2nd visit needed (e.g. under consideration hassle). Stamped me straight to Nov. 25. (60 days after my current 26-Sept stamp). *Hooray* I'm good for the next 80 days starting today!
If you're doing the covid extension, go now while it's quiet!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shares their experience obtaining a Covid visa extension at the Immigration Division 1 in Bangkok, reporting a swift process and the importance of going early to avoid long waits. They received a direct extension until November 25, 2021, and recommend others do the same before the program potentially expires. Various comments follow, discussing required documents, experiences with immigration, and seeking advice on insurance and additional visa-related queries.
Currently looking forward to traveling to Thailand soon. Although having some trouble finding accurate information on documents needed to enter the country and also do you need to quarantine if coming from the US.

Hi. I am going tomorrow for COVID 90 days extension. I want to double check on the location. Is it the large main building below or the other temporary visa extension office a bit farther away?

FYI for anyone else who has to go to Immigration Div 1 in the future, they say they close at 5 but they might stop letting people queue up around 3:30, best to arrive there before then and make sure you have enough time to fill out paperwork, get photo, make copies

Government had to extend. It purposely does not announce until last minute so the agents can cheat people into services they do not need so more corrupt kickback to immergration bosses. No open land boarders . And people who refuse to wear mask on place. Take test. Or vaccine are NOT breaking any laws. The only reason they bully us is because we allow them

Bobby Howard He does even know my friend who entered twice . And has been an agent we have used for 40 years. He has successfully obtained entry for ex convicted criminals, black listed, long ( one over 6 years) overstayers, last year he was part of a legal team that successful won a very serious case for a British criminal who even the UK Embassy said had " no chance of getting a not guilty" . Don't know about you Bobby but this all tells me he is pretty much on the "ball" πππ try again old chap π

Stanley Dancer. Good thing your agent is on the ball. How much did he charge you to tell you what you want to hear? π€£π€£π€£

They might make vaccine compulsory for visa extension
MarGuyvin A. It was mooted by one of the loose-lipped ministers several months back. It was downplayed, and I think immigration said they would look at mandating for school teachers on work visas. Obviously with the slow vaccine roll-out it's not going to happen soon, but I imagine eventually it will do.

What docs did they ask from you? What visa were you holding prior to this 60-day extension? Thanks!
thanks a lot! Extension done just now π weβre good for the next 82 days too.. thanks a lot for sharing the info and replying to our follow up questions π
Jody Dayton Peace That's news to me. I am not on a tourist visa, I'm on a visa exemption. So I have to do mine at the office in Muang Thong Thani...and they did not require me to do any 90-day reporting.
You do need it if you're outside Thailand applying to enter the country. The doc list above is for those who are already in-country and are extending their stay due to the pandemic situation.

Jody Dayton Peace That depends on which office you are applying at. Each one interprets the rules differently. Bangkok does not require it from tourist visa / visa exempt applicants.
hi, can you please let me know what data are required for the COVID affidavit statement? I am a bit confused on who should fill and sign it. Is it myself or a sponsor ( in my case my daughter invitation letter as she lives here) ? Thanks to letting me know.
But will land boarders be open? Will planes allow people who not test. Not wear mask. No vaccine? If no to any of these.... automatic leave to stay. Consult a lawyer. But shhhhhh..... immergration hates loopholes such as these and some of them genuinely don't know they exist.

Stanley Dancer..Land borders won't open for a long time. Tests, masks and vaccines aren't going anywhere fast! With more sandboxes starting up and more people coming in, they might decide it's time for a "Great Reset"! π€£
meting on the 10th about ending the emergency decree (which facilitates the covid extension). God skills on getting yours

Of course. Life is always changing. If the program ends...so be it. It means things will be getting nearer to 'normal'...whatever way we define that now. :)
