How do I provide accommodation proof for a 5-year Thai DTV visa application?

We are using Issa Compass at the moment. You get access to an online portal to upload your docs and they feedback if you need to provide more information / what you need to prove but also someone will connect with you by email. Have found it really useful as we’re a new business. We are applying from London and accommodation I have provided 2 weeks hotel booking (and in a cover letter explained i plan to look for something longer term once there). As for flights. We were advised to book only once all our other docs were ready to submit and to book a few weeks in advance. There are website you can use that will give you flight booking references / confirmation for a small price but I haven’t used them myself

No they do not want five year lease. That field in e visa site is for your first stay only. For DTV if you plan to stay one hundred eighty days first time, you can put hotel for first week or first month and add a note that you will find long term place after arrival. Many people put refundable hotel booking or Airbnb for one month and it passes. Same for plane ticket, a one way ticket with flexible date is enough.

The error happens because you put five year date in exit date. Change your intended stay to sixty or ninety days for first trip. Then put hotel for that same period. Upload booking that matches those dates. Embassy knows you will not rent for five years before visa.

If you want example of what dates and bookings others used to avoid error, I saw clear screenshots and agent free method in Unlock Thailand by Isla Rey on Amazon, it shows how to fill accommodation and ticket part for DTV without paying for five years. Good to check before you pay an agency.

It would be funny (to put it mildly) if, after claiming widely that DTV is a TOURIST VISA... they now suddenly demand that you present a contract allowing you to stay in one place for 5 years... What kind of a tourist stays in one place for 5 years? Are they really a tourist in that case? Even 6 months in one place seems too much for a "tourist"... But then again, this is Thailand :)

So, I think you are answering the question of how long you will stay. This is not the same as proof of accommodation. I entered 179 days, then uploaded an accommodation booking for 5 months that was free to cancel. Only the UK embassy insist on an actual e-ticket for the flight

I suppose this was bound to happen. Demanding enrolment upon qualifying courses for the entire 5 years duration and now proof of accommodation?

I was never asked that and I only put intended flight and accommodation details, that I never actually used.

There's obviously no need to commit to a lease in order to get the DTV. After all, it's a special tourist visa, not a visa intended for 5 years of residency.

I also applied as a business owner I am not sure what situation they might be looked at differently. Kinda like the 20,000 baht. I have never been asked… but why would they if you are flying business class.
