Hello. How do I get a statement from the US government that I have no criminal record? Would I go to the police or FBI? For retirement visa.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a statement confirming you have no criminal record for a retirement visa, you generally have a few options. You may approach your local police department, which can often provide a clearance statement relatively quickly and possibly without charge. Reports from local police are sometimes accepted. Alternatively, you can obtain a more formal record from the FBI, which requires submitting fingerprints and may take about two weeks. Additionally, it's advisable to research online for options specific to your state regarding criminal background checks.

I googled back ground check (and put in a state) and there were more than enough choices to pick one from.
Good Luck

You can get one from the FBI, but you'll have to send in fingerprints. The process takes about two weeks. If you google FBI criminal report, you'll find a link to the site where you can apply.

Go to your local police department. I did and in 20 minutes they gave me 4 copies of the police clearance form stamped NO Police Record with City Seal stamped and NO charge. I took the copies to my bank and they notarized MY signature on the form no charge.
