I’m at MFA in Chang Wattana. I’ve just been told that I cannot get my partner’s documents legalized without having his Power of Attorney.
I have no idea how to get such thing. Does anyone know?
TIA!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster is seeking assistance on how to obtain a Power of Attorney to legalize their partner's documents at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in Chang Wattana. Community members suggest downloading a form and having the partner sign it in front of a lawyer, or that a Thai friend can help facilitate the process. An example is shared where a Thai friend successfully used a Power of Attorney to sell a car on behalf of the author.
It's easy. It is a form that your Thai friends can pick up for you. You fill it out and sign it, and you thereby transfer to your friend the power to do what you want them to do for you (and they can't do it without that paper).

A Thai friend of mine is selling my in-Thailand car for me. She asked me to create for her a Power of Attorney that authorizes her to act on my behalf. Then she found the buyer, negotiated the price, wrote up a buy/sell contract with them... And all I have to do is wait for the money to appear on Sept 1 or so, and if it does not, we get to repossess the car. But none of that happens without the Power of Attorney letter that allowed her to get started. I think every experienced Thai business person knows this, so it should not be hard to find the form.
