Looking for advice on transferring ownership of a car while the owner is overseas. The owner no longer has a Thai work permit, but has a month left on a non-o dependents visa. Is it possible to do without the owner returning to Thailand via power of attorney?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post inquires about the possibility of transferring car ownership in Thailand while the owner is overseas, without a work permit, but with a valid NON-O dependents visa. Answers suggest that obtaining a power of attorney (POA) and providing a copy of the owner's passport are necessary, while the work permit status is deemed irrelevant.

you're wrong. You need copy pp and certificate of residence from seller, if it's a foreigner. Strange but true.

I bought twice a bike w/o cor for small money, because impossible to transfer without paying a bribe.

But a certificate of residence still required? How does this work if not in the country?

@Mandy ***
it is required. No transfer possible w/o that. Some "agents" do offer special services, if necessary.
