Any LTR Wealthy Pensioners in this group? How did you meet this requirement? "A. Health insurance policy (travel insurance NOT accepted) covering the entire course of stay in Thailand and providing at least 50,000 USD for hospitalization and medical treatment in Thailand with no less than 10 months of remaining coverage." Any of you have BCBS Federal that covered this? TIA!

A friend of mine who is also a federal retiree used a letter from BCBS to get his LTR-P with no issues - this was about six months ago.

0nly with income declaration and health insurance. The big bonus is 10 years tax relief and no more 90 days!

So the Thais finally admit the 90 days report is just a money grab scheme! Expats need to keep pressuring the government to eliminate this requirement. Remember Thailand has over $ 50 Billion parked in unused real estate affecting it’s economy

TM-47 online filing is free and takes about 3 minutes 😉

By being wealthy at a guess. Look online at the requirements it’s very straightforward to read and understand what’s needed.

I used my Dutch insurance no need at all for Thai insurance

First called BCBS and they emailed a PDF letter stating unlimited coverage.

BOI then requested policy itself. Downloaded a PDF of BCBS Basic policy from FEHB website.

Attached to BOI LTR app. LTR approved.

I have the ltr visa. My insurance is issued by a thai company which is specific for your ling term residency here. You will also need to prove this every time you enter the country if you opt for e visa from you country embassy or you collect the stamp at boi in bkk and then no worries about it at all.

This visa offers many advantages and one in particular that is now a problem for many is that your tax exempt on any overseas earnings and tbh is an excellent option if you want to stay long term and the criteria is met.

Good luck with it, it is a big task gathering all the information required.

Forget LTR,, just do 60 day visa exceptions and visit another country every 60 days. Have fun and don't get caught up with all the rules. When you exceed 180 days, come back to america before you become a tax resident of thailand
