With the new Thailand arrival card how can I give details for a departure if I don’t exactly have those details 5 to 6 months out for a DTV?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The new Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) does not require departure details to be filled in far in advance. It is recommended to leave the departure section blank or enter a placeholder date, as it is not mandatory and won't affect your arrival. You can complete the TDAC within 3 days of your travel date, and only need to have your travel and accommodation details ready for that time. Immigration officers typically do not require an exact departure date for extensions after the initial visa.
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

WARNING: Only trust Thai government websites with .go.th domains or Thai agent websites with .co.th or .in.th domains, as these require verified Thai registration and cannot be registered anonymously.

The official TDAC form is available at tdac.immigration.go.th, which uses the official .go.th government domain.

The services by AGENTS CO., LTD. does NOT charge any fees for arrivals within 72 hours. If you need to book more than 72 hours in advance, there is a service fee of $8.

Do not trust other sites pretending to be a trustworthy agency. Pay attention to delivery time - the service operated by AGENTS CO., LTD. has 1 minute delivery time for arrivals within 72 hours.

Don't fall for sites pretending to be tdac.in.th or the official government tdac.immigration.go.th website. Always double-check the exact domain in your browser.

Scam services may take days to process your application, others may not even do anything. With these TDAC scam services you also need to worry about double charges.

Please watch out for TDAC misinformation spread by fugitive Jesse Nickles and his many fake accounts on Quora, TripAdvisor, Reddit, and other platforms.

In case of a DTV what should you fill in at 'purpose of travel'? Work?
Vikorn ***********
It didn't have a red star on it so it's optional so I left it blank. Got the qr code just now
Betty *********

DTAC starts today. You can't input information 5-6months in advance

You don’t need to worry about having your departure details 5-6 months in advance for the new Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC). The system only lets you register up to 3 days before your arrival, so you can fill in the departure info closer to your actual travel date. Just keep your travel and accommodation details handy for when you register within that 3-day window before you fly in. Departure info isn’t required way ahead of time, so no stress on that front! Just make sure to complete the TDAC online before you arrive to avoid any hassle at immigration

I just filled out the form and it would not let me complete the form without giving full departure information including flight number or car liscense plate number. I just did it 2 hours ago.

what happens if you are not sure of the days you’ll fly back I guess they won’t understand this

@Ish *******
what do you mean
Brandon ************
@Ish *******
There's nothing to understand. That part of the form is not required. If you start to fill it out, it then becomes required. If you never touch it, you don't have to fill it out.
Etincelle **********
@Brandon ***********
Which honestly is another design flaw. Not required then don't show it, or make it work correctly. And that includes being able to empty the field, not answering.
Brandon ************
@Etincelle *********
it does work correctly. There is a button to clear the entry and reset it to not required. User error is not Thailand's problem.

@Jay ******
It's not required if you don't interact with that section.

thank you for that information

@คุณไรอัน *****
on a tourist visa 30 days then 30 day extension do you still need to show them an exact departure date?
Graham ******
@Ish *******
The Tourist Visa entry stamp (and Visa Exempt) is 60 days not 30
คุณไรอัน ******
@Ish *******
when you enter Thailand on a 30-day tourist visa, the immigration officers usually want to see a return or onward ticket with a departure date. But for the 30-day extension, you don’t really need to show an exact departure date-just make sure you apply before your first 30 days are up.

@คุณไรอัน *****
Thailand doesn’t offer a 30 day tourist visa.
Tony *********
@คุณไรอัน *****
they asked me for my departure date when applying for an extension
John ********
Doesn't have a Red Asteriks. You don't need to fill that section of the form
Bent *************
Then of course you can’t
Graham ******
Just leave it blank or pick a date as it is not binding
