Hello. My wife, I, and our three children have been living in Thailand for a year on a DTV visa. My wife is pregnant and our next child is due in December. How do I add another child to my DTV visa? Do I need to show my account balance and 500,000 baht again? Should I apply for a visa from scratch for myself and my family, or will my child simply be added to my current visa when it's born? How much time do I have to apply for it after the child's birth in Thailand? Please only respond from people who have been in this situation. I'm not interested in speculation, just facts. Children 14 years of age and under aren’t charged with overstay offences so there isn’t an immediate rush to get the visa. That being said it isn’t a good idea to have your child routinely overstay by 4/5 months.

Newborns aren’t automatically added as a dependent, you are still required to get them their own visa which will require proof that you have 500k THB in your account that has been matured for however long the relevant consular office requires.

Hi, in the process of adding my newborn. Yes, you need to show 500,000 thb again, your dtv, proof of your location, copy of your passport and the birth certificate.

You need to apply outside of Thailand and when you leave Thailand, ensure you have the original Thai birth certificate. The IO will ask (I left via Bkk airport).
