Hi everyone, and thank you for your helpful answers.

Regarding the Non-O and Non-OA visas:

I have the required lump sum available for deposit,

I am 55 years old, my wife is 48, and we have a little daughter.

Which visa option would be the most suitable for our family?

Do I need to apply for visas for my wife and daughter only after my own visa has been approved, or can we all apply together?

Will my wife and daughter receive the same visa status and rights as I do? In other words, would they also be exempt from having to deposit a separate amount of money?

From what I understand, it is not possible to open a Thai bank account without a Non-O visa. On the other hand, it is not possible to obtain a Non-O visa without first depositing 800,000 THB into a Thai bank account.

How is this situation normally resolved?
Answer summary
A user inquired about the best visa options for their family, considering they are 55 years old with a 48-year-old spouse and a young child, and they operate an online business remotely. Community responses clarified that the Non-O and Non-OA visas are not suitable due to the nature of their work, and recommended applying for DTV visas (Digital Nomad Visa) based on Workation instead. It was also noted that the child could be included as a dependant on the mother's application, while the parents need to apply individually.

Both you and your wife will run businesses remotely from Thailand. You are not allowed to do that on either a Non-O or a Non-OA visa based on retirement so you need to forget these as options entirely. Both you and your wife need to apply for your own DTV visas based on Workation, your kid a DTV as your dependant. You can stop looking at other options as they don't exist

No. If your wife will also work remotely she can't be your dependant, she needs to apply for the DTV based on Workation herself which requires 500k baht. Your kid should be no problem, you just write a sponsorship letter for them.

You don't need 800tbt in a Thai bank to get your Non-O before you arrive.

Lynnette Munoz the Non-Imm-O and the Non-Imm-O/A are the wrong option for them because now he admitted they both work remotely on an online business. You are not allowed to work on a Non-O or on a Non-O/A

You should have included that information in your first post, because now that post is useless. Your only option is a non-OA, as you cannot get a dependent visa for your wife or daughter with a non-O visa. You need to contact your Thai embassy confirm with them they will issue dependent non-O visas based on your non-OA visa if you apply for that. No embassy in the world will issue a dependent spouse visa if you apply for a non-O visa.

You do not need 800,000 in a Thai bank to apply for a visa from a Thai embassy. You just need a bank statement from any bank that is in your name.

I gave him the full package of advice , but this is completely useless in the light that he and his wife run an online remote business. It is the DTV they need to apply for . . F.....g time-wasters

finally he gives us the information we need to advise him properly (LATE but FINALLY!!!) Now he said that both his wife and himself are working on a remote online business. . . . . . So, he can forget about the Non-Imm-O/A Visa. You are not allowed to work remotely in Thailand on a Non-O Or Non-O/A visa. He and his wife must apply for the DTV and the 4-year old daughter can get a piggyback as a sponsored child

Alon Gilmore Why did you not give us the FULL information we need to advise you properly, in the first place?

Now, finally, after I wrote a whole book on the topic Non-O Dependent Visa and the related topic about the Non-Imm-O/A visa, NOW finally you tell us that both your wife and you are working on a remote online business.

Damn!

This means that you can forget about the Non-Imm-O/A Visa and the Non-O Dependent Visa as well.

You are not allowed to work remotely in Thailand on a Non-O or Non-O/A visa.

If you wish to continue to work remotely for your online business while you are living in Thailand, you and your wife must apply for the DTV based on Workation.

Your kid can get a DTV as your dependant. You can stop looking at other options as they don't exist
