TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses obtaining a 60-day tourist visa to Thailand while currently in Da Nang, Vietnam. Suggestions include traveling to Savannakhet for the visa, but commenters note the need for a visa to Laos and suggest considering cheaper alternatives like trains to Saigon or Hanoi. One commenter shares their positive experience obtaining a Thai tourist visa from the Thai Embassy in Washington, D.C., highlighting that it may vary for non-U.S. citizens.
I have applied for, and gotten, tourist visas from the Thai Embassy in Washington DC, while outside of the US. If you are a US Citizen you can try there. If you're not, you could still try but its' not likely to work out. 🙂
