trying to obtain a 60 day Thai visa, normally its easy however this year the system has altered, you now need to apply online, not a problem for me I have a computer a printer/scanner so I get to stage 3 of the form and that's as far as I can go, the form is asking for a scan of a photo and passport, the problem is the file needs to be 0.5 mb I am unable to get a file down to this size, I tried to call London Royal Thai Embassy but all I could get was an automated message. any ideas gratefully received. I will be in Thailand from January to April

Answer summary

The user is facing difficulties obtaining a 60-day Thai visa due to the requirement of uploading a photo and passport scan that must be reduced to 0.5 MB. They have tried to contact the London Royal Thai Embassy without success. Community members have suggested various methods to reduce the file size, including using online tools, adjusting the resolution during scanning, and uploading to social media to download a smaller version. Additionally, visiting a Thai Consulate in the UK for easier visa processing is recommended.

So many programs on Google to resize your pictures and documents. But you might do a search in the populair topic London On Line Applications, it is mentioned a few times and I know for sure there is at least 1 post with different programs mentioned. Good luck

If you can get to a Thai Consulate in the UK, it is much easier to obtain the Tourist Visa.

Everybody has this problem! Some have suggested uploading it to facebook, saving the (now reduced) image from Facebook, then deleting it.
