I'm in UK. Have started new online O-A Visa application for London embassy. Advice please. 3 months bank statements is 17 pages. File too big to upload. Could I just scan page 1 of each month which has "amount paid in" on it? I have emailed the embassy too. Cheers

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking advice on starting their online O-A Visa application for the Thai embassy in London, specifically regarding the upload of bank statements that exceed the file size limit. Suggestions from the community include scanning only selected pages, compressing the file, or splitting it into smaller parts. There are also discussions about recent changes in visa rules, confirmation of required documentation, and experiences related to online applications. The community emphasizes the importance of confirming information directly with the embassy and shares tips on acceptable proof of residency in the UK.

What's more it is truly Global. You can choose where to collect the visa from the list of participating embassys and consulates. I chose to apply as a UK passport holder and collect a Non O single entry in Beijing. The system accepted my choice all the way until I would need to actually send the application. Now, whether after I actually pay and send it they would reject it, I cannot say. I'm not wasting money just to test it.

It certainly seems that the system does what it says it will do. Apply anywhere in the world and collect the visa anywhere in the world that is linked up too online application.

the idea is that it is Global. No matter where I log in and at what embassy, you enter the global website based in Bangkok. The embassy themselves do not recieve the confirmation or deal directly with the application.

At this time only 3 country's are online. If you watch the video it explains how this global system is eventually too work.

Right now,as a UK citizen, I could be in china or France on holiday and then going directly to Thailand and would, in some cases require a visa.

I log in, it checks my country and asks where I want the request sent too. I apply and pay then print off the slip and bar code. Once I get confirmation, i can then visit that embassy with my documents and bar code slip and collect my visa which is sitting on the system having been approved.

Because its not 'Embassy specific' and the requirements are 100% exactly the same no matter what passport you hold or where you apply to collect the visa as long as your country of passport is online to the system, the old days of needing different documents or the need of being able to apply for this visa at this embassy or that embassy with different documents are coming to an end.

With that end, the system has stopped issuing all ME non O visas except O-A and Non b.

The system and requirements are the same no matter who or where you apply.

It won't be too long and all Thai Embassys and consulates will be using it.

You won't need to make the requirements to apply to collect in china for instance. It will be the same requirements worldwide.

As I understand from a comment yesterday. You apply on-line, get approved, visit or mail your passport to the Embassy and get the visa attached. If you apply in London, it does not make sense (yes. I know this is Thailand) to send your passport to f.e. Beijing to get the visa attached. This as you do not meet the requirements of the visa in Beijing or the Embassy in London must inform the Beijing Embassy that you met all the requirements in London.

Not sure if anybody has noticed but once you have an account, you can log on from any Embassy website that is taking part in online application. Whether you log in via Beijing, London or Paris, it's the exact same web based server with the same choices.

The ability to not be able to get the Multiple entry Non O visa any longer other than the O-A and Non B is not just limited to London. It is exactly the same for any country taking part in online application.

Basically, no matter where you log in, you end up in the exact same place.

How will they put new visa in your passport if all done online

Great thanks sooo much
Ron *******
Paulene Polly Anne Okeefe you need to register on the Embassy website via the online application link and simply work your way through the menu and attach what they ask for. Once complete, you pay the fee and send it all electronically. Once the visa is agreed, you then make arrangements to visit the embassy taking all the hard copys you uploaded and your passport to get the visa inserted.

Or, you can post everythìng once the visa is agreed and include cash or a postal order (No cheques or card payments are accepted) for £10 which covers the return postage for it all to be sent back to you with the visa in your passport.

I have no idea where this 1 month of 800k or £20k in the bank is coming from. It's 3 months for 0-A Visa if using lump sum method and 6 months of income if you using the income method.

Can I go and do it at embassy in london instead of online
Ron *******
@Paulene ********************

How do I get the police check and the medical in the uk
Tod *********
@Mervyn *******
yep, if you come in on a 90 day single entry Non-O visa and you need to leave and come back during that 90 days you'd need to buy a re-entry permit either at the immigration office or at the airport when you fly out

Print off medical cert and your GP should complete and stamp it for you. Ours charged 20 quid. No examination or anything. I just handed to reception and picked it up days later. Easy

@Peter **********
, you do know that a police background check and medical certificate is ONLY for getting an O-A (Long Stay) visa right? It's not required for a non-O visa

Be that as it may, did you LOOK on the website of the thai consulate in London?

it's not hard. Just boring. Once you've created an account it takes you through step by step. Save every page. Crashed a few times and had to start again. Hardest was getting files to right size. I'll let you know when done

Try compressing the file maybe
