How can I open a bank account on a DTV in Thailand, and where can I find an agent to help?
I need an agent to open an account on a DTV. I am in Phangan but I can go anywhere to get this done. Thanks!

If you can find a solution where you plan to spend most of your time (Phangan?) that is the best, since that will allow ATM-withdrawls inside the province without any fee.

it is best, also because there things you may need to go back to your original branch for. For the withdrawals, with most if not all banks if you use cardless ATM withdrawals with the bank mobile app, there's no outisde-province fee.

Bangkok Bank. I needed to show a TM30 and having left at least 30days before visa expires (means your 180days stay on DTV).

Did any of you guys, who haS DTV, managed to pay by QR code? There are apps for that, but I saw that all apps, allowing to top up the balance by cash only. How can I top up the app's balance by internation credit/debit card, Any solution without opening local bank account?

Moreta allows top-up by ACH (US domestic bank transfer). It charges 3%. Alternately, you can withdraw cash at an ATM with any card and then top up with that. You won't likely find a free solution for this as the Thai QR system is totally free to both merchant and customer. While credit/debit cards have fees to the merchant. So it's not economical to allow free top-ups of a cash wallet with an international debit card, someone has to cover the fees.Elie *********

maybe in this case there is no free top up solution, but it is not true that always the user has to pay for these transactions. There are digital wallets and bank accounts that can be topped up by card with 0% commission.Elie *********

Just go to Bangkok bank across from indigo, they should still be able to open an account for you even on tourist visa. I’ve tried last year with my ED and still couldn’t get one with an agent anywhere in Thailand. You’re best bet is Bangkok bank.
