TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about finding an agent to assist with opening a bank account in Koh Phangan while holding a DTV visa. The community offers various insights, including the necessity of a resident certificate, tips on visiting banks directly, and mentions that some banks are now requesting a tax number due to compliance with international standards. Additionally, alternative options like mobile payment apps are suggested.
Make sure you need one. Kasikorn and Krungsri banks are now requesting tax number from their customers to "follow CRS and other international standards".

Why do you need an agent to open an account in your own settlement ?

Why not use an app like Moreta or Jamjang to pay the QR code ?

Anonymous participant 292 are you sure they work with ALL promptpay ? Mycountry payment app TnG Wallet also work with promptpay BUT only if the vendor is using a business bank account and not personal account. Most big biz like BigC and large restaurants/hotels do. Many street vendors and mom and pop shops don't and it will give error messages
