Anyone used a TRICARE insurance letter to prove that they have a minimum of $50K of insurance coverage worldwide? If so, how did you get it? I received a letter stating that I was covered, but it does not have a minimum amount. Thank You

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry is about obtaining a TRICARE insurance letter that explicitly documents $50,000 in coverage for visa purposes, specifically for the Wealthy Pensioner Long-Term Residency (LTR) Visa in Thailand. Several commenters provided guidance on the necessary documentation, including contacting TRICARE for two specific types of letters: one confirming health coverage and another detailing what TRICARE covers abroad. There are mentions of changes in TRICARE policies regarding the inclusion of specific dollar amounts in their letters, and alternative suggestions for obtaining appropriate insurance that meets visa requirements.

You will need two Tricare letters for BOI

- Proof of coverage: Log in to https://

milconnect.dmdc.osd.mil/. Click on the "Obtain proof of health coverage" button. Click the tab "Proof of Coverage." Click your name and the button to generate the letter.

- Document showing what Tricare covers. Send email to

. Tell them you are applying for a visa abroad and need a letter documenting Tricare coverage abroad. Only takes a few days for them to respond with a letter.

You need to talk with BOI, the military/Tricare Ins. letter no longer puts a dollar amount so that may not be an option anymore

I emailed them a couple of hours ago. I’m definitely praying they provide numbers and if not, at least the LTR is approved without it.

BOI is for investing, correct? It appears that if I can’t show the dollar amount for insurance, the requirement would be that I have $100K invested for no less than 12 months at the time of application. The application has been submitted, they requested an update for insurance.

SunnyPeacock4338 for a couple of years Tricare was relaxing the rules and putting in a dollar amount but they went back to their old ways

SunnyPeacock4338 You can still buy a policy From their recommended providers And once you have proof it's purchased they'll accept it

SunnyPeacock4338 Boi owns the LTR visa and they run the program and I think the two options for insurance are to buy a policy that satisfies them or have so much in the bank as you stated for a period of time

SunnyPeacock4338 I've seen people report success with this, but I do not recall how they did it. Did you search the group for LTR? There's also a very long LTR thread on ASN.
