Hi, I have a tax related problem.I'm an Austrian pensioner (61 years) living in Mueang Kanchanaburi on annual extensions of a retirement visa (no problem here). Now my Austrian pension insurance and the tax office want to have stamp and signature from a Thai tax office (Certificate of residence from the tax administration); see above. Kanchanaburi tax office says they do not do stamps or certifications, Nakhon Phatom office doesn't know what to do and Immigration says that's nonsense. Could anybody help me? Maybe some EU citizen had the same problem?

TLDR : Answer Summary
An Austrian pensioner residing in Kanchanaburi is facing challenges obtaining a Certificate of Residence from the Thai tax office, which is required for dealings with Austrian tax authorities. The local tax office in Kanchanaburi claims they do not issue such certifications, and the Nakhon Phatom office is unhelpful. Suggestions from the community include contacting the embassy, discussing the situation with the Austrian tax office to clarify that Thailand does not tax the pension, and sharing experiences from individuals who have successfully navigated similar issues.

I needed a so called RO22 document. After paying (a bit 😉) tax in a revenue office, I could ask this document in another revenue office. For me at least, you cannot get it for coffee money.

So far I did it all by myself after I got this paper as an example from another Dutch guy.

I transfer every month an amount in Euro to my Bangkok bank account as international transfer. That transfer amount in Thai Baht, I print every month. I made a spread sheet with those 12 amounts (to caculate my tax) and go to the Revenue office. They fill in a so called PND91 with the total year amount and the deductions (100k฿ for everyone, 60k฿ per family (official) member, only me in this case and 190k฿ deduction because I am 65 year plus). First tranch in their system of 150k฿ is zero %. So I have a total deduction of 500k฿. If you transfer e.g. 700k฿ in a year, than it's only 5% next 150k฿ and 10% over the last 50k฿. Then I pay and buy a legal copy of that PND91 for 18฿ 🤭. With that I could get that RO22 document. In another Revenue office though 🙄. I only need this document every 5 year to get tax exemption in the Netherlands.

Wow, that's a good idea. Thais don't like to stamp or sign Farang documents and can sell their own for a better price. I will certainly look into this option, thank you so much. Did you have Thai help or can a Farangutan do that by himself?

Vielen Dank fuer Deine mitfuehlenden Worte. Herzlichst, Michael

Maybe you can contact your embassy.

Thanks, already did that. They are friendly and helpful but apparently there are big problems with this "EU-document".
