How Can I Extend My Stay in Thailand for Two More Months Without Using My Last Visa Entry?

Is there a way I can extend my trip 2 months with a visa of some sort? I do not want to use up my last remaining (second) entry without a visa.

I arrived in Thailand November 2018 with a six month METV. I left in April 2019. No extensions, no overstays.

I entered without a visa December 28 2019, immediately extended and I am stamped in until February 25, 2020.

I am willing to take a class - perhaps cooking or music theory - if that might help.

Any suggestions on how I might extend this trip by two months without doing another visa-less entry?

Thanks for your help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is looking for options to extend their stay in Thailand by two months without using their remaining visa entry. They arrived on a six month METV and later on a visa-less entry that can be extended until February 25, 2020. Suggestions include obtaining a SETV at a neighboring country or considering a border run for an extension, as well as the possibility of applying for a 60-day tourist visa at a Thai consulate.

Gabe Zappia your choice is to GO to a thai consulate in another country and BUY a 60 day tourist visa for thailand.

Given your previous entry history you are going to be limited to consulates because many will not sell you a tourist visa with the entry history you have.

Id say Kota Bharu is a good option but that's about the only one that I know around here that you might get a tourist visa at.

What is your nationality?

From your December post it appears you are an American.

Why are you not wanting to do a border run? You say you only need two more months. One border run gives you 30 days plus an extension for 30 days for 1,900 Thai baht from Thai Immigration.

You are allowed two land border crossings per calendar year.

As an example...

VIENTIANE

Tourist Visa, if you had previously some Tourist visas your application will be considered more carefully. Vientiane is now asking for proof of funds, Book Bank with balance THB 20,000.- up OR print out from Bank account from home country value USD 700.-up. Onward air ticket is not required, but prepare Rental Contract.

Yes, of course. It was late. I am American if that's not already obvious.

Every neighbouring country deals with this slightly differently. Some require online booking, some are walk-in. Some are next day, some linger ...

Get SETV in one of the neighbour countries

I have read about this but never done it.

Do you just bounce out to another country, go to the Thai Embassy and apply for the visa?

How long does it take before you get the visa?

Which country would you recommend and how long do I have to stay in that country before the visa is issued?
