Hi all. Currently on a visa exemption (UK passport) and was supposed to start a job in June, but had some issues with the labour ministry after the 14 day deadline for changing visa in country.

A few days before the amnesty was announced, I extended my visa which gave a new expiry date of 14 May 2020.

Does anyone know whether I'd need to leave on the 31 June, or whether I can make use of the additional days from my extension?

I'm expecting it not to or that the answer is that no one knows, but thought I'd ask anyway.

Summary so far

The user is currently on a visa exemption due to a UK passport and has concerns about the upcoming expiration of their visa after extending it. They are uncertain whether they need to leave Thailand by the end of June or if they can stay based on their visa extension. There is no clear answer yet, as others have echoed a sentiment of waiting for government announcements regarding the status of visa amnesty holders.

At this time <- meaning right now as of today. no one knows what will happen when the amnesty runs out.

All you can do is sit tight, wait it out and watch for the government announcement about what amnesty holders need to do.
