How can I convert my 60-day tourist visa to a Non-B visa in Thailand with a name discrepancy on my degree certificate?

Has anyone come across this problem yet. According to immigration, affidavits have to be given now to prove that the passport holder and person named on a degree certificate are the same. It seems the British embassy will not do affidavits for this. Although they called it an affidavit at the time. They gave a letter which Thai immigration will not accept. Trying to convert a 60 day tourist visa into a non b here, which has always been possible. Any ideas how to fix this without having to go back to the U.K. for a non. b there?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is experiencing difficulties converting a 60-day tourist visa into a Non-B visa in Thailand due to a discrepancy in the name on their degree certificate. Thai immigration requires affidavits to prove the identity of the passport holder and degree holder, but the British embassy has refused to provide an affidavit, instead issuing a letter that immigration does not accept. Various solutions have been suggested, including obtaining a new degree certificate from the university or going out of Thailand to apply for a Non-B visa from a nearby country.

So the universitys left out both your middle names.

I have a degree and i have nerve heard of a university making a mistake about someones name.

I just hope you never bought them of the internet back home.

If you did dont try to pass them offff as the real thing.

Only saying.

How long have you both had the cerificates...

If it was your passports you whould have sorted it before you come here.

First time for everything. Got in touch with the uni and they they admitted clerical error caused many of their degree certificates to have middle names omitted. Putting it right at no charge.

I think it would be easier to just go out of the country and get a non b, from savannaket, laos. it might take a while to get the new degree sent from your university, and you would have to pay for it too.

The problem is that the name on her degree cert missed out her middle name. The British embassy has stated in the letter they gave that the certificate was presented by the passport holder but did not verify they are the same person! Have applied to the uni to reissue the degree. Hoping that will fix it?
