How can I better phrase my explanation letter for my DTV soft power visa application in Thailand?

Hello everyone,

I have submitted my application to the Thai embassy in Paris for the DTV soft power option (cooking class of 6 months than can be rescheduled over a year time). I am French.

They have asked for an explanation letter of what I plan to do outside of my cooking classes, as it is not full time.

I used to work in Thailand under BOI work permit for 4years on a stressful job. Now with the DTV, I plan to take some time to actually enjoy Thailand with the cooking course and some 'normal' tourism like scuba diving or hiking in the North. Also I expect to go back to France regularly to see my family because you have to go out every 180 days.

Any advice on how to phrase the explanation better?

Many thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A French expat has applied for the DTV soft power visa for a cooking class in Thailand but needs advice on writing an explanation letter for non-class activities. They plan to explore Thailand, engage in tourism, and visit family regularly. Community responses suggest emphasizing cultural immersion and the benefits of extended study over short-term tourism.

Hello,

Do you have to write a letter by hand writing?

It’s online

Don't forget to mention the time you will spend immersing yourself in the activities of Nana Plaza and interacting with the denizens of Soi 6 in Pattaya!

Just write this exact message in Chatgpt and watch the magic happen

Anonymous participant 701 idk why you assumed that I could not use ChatGPT but the question was more about any feedback of what the embassy would like to read

Nothing magic about false answers.

he asked for a way to rephrase his explanation.. guess what grandpa.. chatgpt can do that

But most of the time chatgpt and deslike, give useless answers in these matters.

Like anonymous persons.

fun fact, boomers that dont know how to use basic internet and sit on FB every day wasting their life away indeed dont know how to get chatgpt to give correct answers

Anonieme deelnemer 701 Chatgpt will give different answers on the same question when you ask 2 minutes later, very reliable...

Since the internet is full of wrong answers, chatgpt will also give a lot of wrong answers.

But now I know why some people think you should ignore postings of Anonymous people here, maybe they are right after all!

so what is the correct answer?

@Ray ****
You never can fully trust chatgpt gives a correct answer. It might give you ideas, it might give a correct answer or it might give an incorrect answer, but you still have to do own research if you want to be sure.

Especially on subjects where people have different opinions you will have higher risks of getting wrong answers.

depends how much you know the LLM and how well you can prompt it. Each one is obviously different

Probably think about the locations of your extracurricular activities, is it doable without skipping lessons.

I think you phrased it well already. Just say you want to travel and see more of the country and observe and learn the culture. This you cannot do on a short term visa as you need more immersion. Good luck.

Thanks! Make sense to insist about the immersion time! Which is exactly the reason DTV is good for me
