I’m French and I’m planning to apply for a DTV visa at the Thai Embassy in Paris.
A bit about my situation: I’m the owner of my own company in France, and on my passport I still have my Thai address listed. That’s because when I renewed my passport, I was living in Thailand under a work permit and Non-B visa for 4 years.
I quit my job one year ago, and since then I’ve been traveling in and out of Thailand regularly, usually 2–3 months on visa exemption, then 2–3 months back in France.
Has anyone else applied for a DTV visa with a Thai address still on their passport?
Did that cause any issues at the Embassy in Paris?
Thanks in advance for any insight! 😊

TLDR : Answer Summary
A French expat who previously lived in Thailand is seeking advice on applying for a DTV visa at the Thai Embassy in Paris, particularly regarding potential issues arising from having a Thai address still listed on their passport. Responses indicate that while updating personal information is legally recommended, the address on the passport is unlikely to hinder the visa application process. It appears that proof of residence might be the main requirement, and experiences with the embassy suggest varying processing times.
Legally, you should update you IDs whenever something changes. On the other hand it should not impact your application as a proof of address is usually requested by the Thai embassy when you apply for the DTV
Have no clue on the address issue but I can’t seeing it being an issue. The Paris embassy is notorious for their slow response times. People have got DTVs from there but expect a wait. Potentially a month or so.
Interesting that French passports have an address. In my country only the ID cards had a vague address (that could be either a national or foreing address) but that was removed on the newest version.
