TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for a UK visa to bring your wife and son, you should start by visiting the official UK government website for visas (gov.uk). It is essential to determine whether you need a Visitor Visa or a Spouse Visa based on the purpose of bringing them to the UK. The application process is predominantly online, but you will need to attend a biometric appointment at a location such as the Trendy Building in Bangkok. Additionally, it's advisable to gather requisite documents, such as an invitation letter, itinerary, proof of financial means, and assurance that your wife and son will return to Thailand after their visit. For assistance, you might also visit VFS Global in Bangkok, where they can help you understand the requirements, although the visa application itself is submitted online.

Go to VFS. You have to create an account first. Everything is done online with the exception of bio metrics. Then you can download the application forms.
You should write an invitation letter outlining that you will fully support both of them. Lodging, travel, food, health insurance etc. Have an itinerary on what your plans are for the reason of the visit. Give valid reasons why she will return to Thailand. Provide proof of your financial situation to prove you can afford to support them.
Go to Visatogo beside Foodland and ask them what you will need. That part is free. I’m not asking you to use their service but they will tell you what you need to apply.
generally that is great advice about what to include but you apply for the visa from the. Gov. UK Web site not the VFS site. It is an online application now not a paper form unless the application is from North Korea. I expect you can do it from the vfs site but it should transfer you to the.. Gov. UK on line application. When you submit the on line form the UK Gov website automatically transfers you to the vfs site with a GWF number. Then you can pay for visa and any services and make an appointment for biometrics with vfs. You have the option to upload supporting evidence documents to vfs rather than take an armful of paper documents but I think you can still take paper documents for now. My tip to anyone would be print off your appointment letter after you finished uploading the documents as it will then include the list of all the documents you uploaded.
Yes you’re correct it does transfer you to the UK site. But it still takes you back to the VFS site where you need to create an account. So neither here nor there you still have to go to both sites.

This group is useful for uk spouse visa applications or go to the UK Govt site for Visas
then the op can just go to the UK Gov visa Web site and read the information and apply on line from there. All the information is there and its an on line application. I don't know another group but there will be one for visitor visas. Apply from the dot gov dot UK Web site to be sure its the right site.
located in Bankok or Chiang Mai. It's mostly for biometrics once visa is approved but they can offer visa services, if you have all paperwork ready think.
No, I'm not British. Some countries process visas and handle passports themselves through their embassy, the UK and India contract with VFS global to process their visas and passports. If you call your embassy, they'll direct you to them. I believe the only thing the UK embassy will issue is the emergency travel document if you loose your passport and can't wait 2 weeks for a replacement.
yes the emergency travel passport half the price, only valid for one year though, can be issued faster, however it's not like a real passport, just for emergency travel. Any other normal 10 year passport varies by country, currently 6-8 weeks for Aussie, 11-13 weeks for UK sounds about right. Have a frienf who waited that long for hers to arrive. Usually quite nerve racking.. I don't want to ever have my passport lost/stolen again.. (what's the point anyways??!!) Or hand it over to anyone for collateral. I'm going to be well pleased when I have two passports in hand again. Atm I don't have either!!
do you know of anyone who has ever tried applying for more than one visa with vfs? Like for two different countries? In case one of them falls through the net..🤔
