So long as he has enough money to support her stay it should be fine, my gf visited just needed 150 per day and return ticket sponsor letter

Best to get her to apply through agent in Thailand, they will tell all the necessary lies to make it happen. I suspect England would be very similar to Australia. I tried doing it from Australia with an agent, a logistics nightmare and still failed because everything was true , lies work better

As others have advised bearing it in mind always what the UK authorities are looking for. That is :- She will return home, she's not being sex slaved, you are in a genuine relationship, she is a tourist and you/she have the funds.

The more evidence you have the better. A carrier bag of photos is always better than a couple of snapshots, and so it goes for everything else.

I used tobapplied for visa to UK 3 times myself never use agency.By that time I have only 4000thb.saving in my account, my salary was 6000thb, no assets in my name. The important part is the financial n credit of the sponsor from UK. And make sure you let them know that your girlfriend have something in Thailand she need to come back for and she won't continue living in UK. Two times had a letter from my bosses stated that they allow me to take holiday to UK n they ll keep job for me when I came back to Thailand. The 3rd time I show them what business I Had and I need to come back for. I told them my live is great in Thailand and I not wasn't looking for greener grasses and never wanted to live in UK. Don't tell them any lies. These people they interview n see thousands n thousands of people everyday. They monitor you since in front of Embassy gate not just in an interview room so just dress right n behalf right the whole time when you are there.

Gov.uk have all the information needed. You have to read all of it, prepare the documents then she must submit it all and have biometrics taken at a VFS center. Evidence is important.

Firstly do it yourself. Dont use anyone in Thailand. Secondly. If she cant speak and read English well forget it. Age is important too. If shes too old she will not cope with the learning and adapting well. She will have to jump threw so nany legal hoops and visa requirements its quite a journey. Its also expensive. I dont know the current figure but you need a high enough income to support both of you.

Don't use an agent. Waste of money.

The main thing is like others . Proof she is going back. Get a return ticket, proof you have accommodation for her, proof you can pay for everything she needs from when she arrives in the UK until she leaves, then they know when done have to it be tempted to work. I honestly believe the main thing is that YOU have a lot of funds ,more than enough to cover her stay. If she has family, kids, parents ,own house, business,or job it will help but at the end of the day of you can pay everything I think she has a good chance of getting appproved. .good.luck.you can do everything an agent does but way cheaper. It's mainly just her visiting bangkok once to leave her passport and evidence with vfs global the UK government's appointed representatives in bangkok. Fill in the forms upload every thing,be honest and you will probably be ok

Possibly similar to what I did bringing my gf now wife (8yrs) to NZ. I sponsered her trip and said I would cover all her costs in NZ. 👍She had never flown before so I flew to Thailand, meet her family so they know she will be safe with me and flew back with her.❣️ Very differcult and unsafe to fly if she hasn't travelled before and her english is not good. 🤔 A lot of paperwork but it can be done. Get the visa sorted 100% before booking flights 🙏 good luck..

Mate if anything like Australia it’s expensive time consuming getting all the evidence together . An old man said to me once don’t take anything home that does have a number on it . Wise words I look back on now . Many change when they find a different life . Also many young bucks want to white ant you . Unless you are really confident in your relationship take her to Bali China anywhere but home

Standard visitor visa should be difficult.

It was just a form and house registration docs. I think a trip to somewhere for biometrics.

I wrote a letter saying she would stay at my house. That was the sum of my involvement.

Alan Barlow ..I used an agent to start, after two week was obvious they had no idea.just tried to make it more complicated and slower than need be so I dumped them and did it ourselves. Took 4 weeks from start to issued and I didn't even own my own place in the UK just got a letter from a family member inviting us to stay with them and proof they owned the place

You will be her sponsor so have to show bank statements, proof of income and accommodation details. She will have to show strong links to Thailand such as family ,job etc .They basically need guarantees that she won’t work cash in hand and has a reason to come back so won’t overstay .The biggest issue you might have is providing documents to VFS in Bangkok

I have contributed many times to posts like this, my Thai partner has applied and received 5 U.K. Visitors Visas, no job, no money in the bank and no property. I sponsored her every time saying I would cover all her expenses and would be accompanying her from Bangkok to the U.K. and back to Bangkok. Just don’t tell any lies on the application form.

James Reid Patrick correct, importance on her returning to Thailand is the main thing,,

Photos of you both,Calls, etc to prove relationship, sponsor letter, bank statements from you, etc, a bit of a headache doing it, but can be done
James ***************
James ***************
Michael Brown Photos are no longer required, read the Gov. UK website on documents required. I wrote a Sponsors Letter indicating I had the funds to support her during her stay in the UK and proof of accommodation. Phone records also not required to prove a relationship they don’t actually prove you are in a relulike wise photographs.

James Reid Patrick I will not be bringing her from Bangkok she will be travelling by herself. She’s not even got a passport yet she’s never been on a plane. I remember the first time I went to Thailand. It was a track and a half I have looked at flights. She lives up north so she’ll need to get a plane to Bangkok then two plans to England, including waiting time it’s gonna take 25 hours.
Sylvia ********

Kenny Norris if she's never been on a plane in all honesty the trip will be too overwhelming for her alone. Better you try to get her a visa around your next visit, then travel back with her. I know of one lady whom partner paid an agent to get the papers prepared and she backed out, too scared of the unknown
Khun *******
Khun *******
Kenny Norris why not go and visit, then have her travel back with you?? That's what I did with my then gf (now my wife), a return ticket is advisable, that shows she will be going back, amongst other things.

Dave Cottom its the only way. Bus to Bangkok she'll be familiar with. Taxi to airport then direct flight only and you need to be in arrivals as she more than likely be grilled by immigration even with a visa.

All businesses and companies, use KPIs…key performance indicators. A number to define how good or bad something is. It is monitored. 7 is now, 8, is better, is a target… Both the UK and the German governments have a KPI showing how many visa applications they REJECT. No discussion on small boats here…but the home office tries to reject as many applications as possible. The governmet will then fk you on fees if they must let her visit. Ask me how I know..

Luc De Clerck A friend of mine tried twice to visit her boyfriend in the UK

The first time they refused because her boyfriend (sponsor) didn't have accommodation they approved.

The second time I 'vetted' her application. I was quite confident it'd be fine.

She has a house (no mortgage), car, 3 boys, 2 of them school age, family etc.

She teaches in a number of schools as well as government offices. No salary as everything is invoiced.

It was refused. Reason: We don't believe she will return to Thailand.

The agent queried the decision with the Home Office pointing out everything in her application. Answer: "We don't believe it to be true"

My Wife did it herself before we got married and we since had 2 more latest being 10 yer visitors visa.

She has a history of travel for work or holiday. Good Job, her own property.

If she has never travelled suggest a few visits to other countries first where a visa is not required Singapore, Turkey China. From a friend who used to Work at US embassy a big red flag for them is lack of previous overseas trips. (Not to neighbouring countries)

It is impossible for US and Canada to get an average thai girl to visit on tourist visa, not sure if UK is the same, if she was a lawyer with her own firm, 3 buildings in her name , massive family ties in Thailand then yes it’s possible but your average thai girl unemployed or on 15k a month salary can’t get tourist visas

First you contact immigration and ask them what is needed, yes it’s a minefield.

Probably takes years and visits then she go back and come again. It’s not (probably) one step so be prepared for a long run.

I’m from Sweden and it’s allot of work and show proof of income to support aso.

Suggest not to use lawyers and instead listen to immigration what they say first.

Theres no bypass on this matter.

pointless advice. The application process is all on the UK Govt. website. Follow the process and if she qualifies (which is highly unlikely unless she has strong reasons to return to Thailand) she will be granted a UK visitors visa.

The critcal thing you have to convince the UK gov is she is going to return to Thailand, this means official ties to Thailand are critical, such as a job she will return to, money in a Thai bank, a house in her name and the like. Its not an easy route for most.
